An anonymous Algonquin College student learned this lesson the hard way after a photo he snapped of himself posing as a Nazi made its way to Ottawa media organizations, despite the fact that he had removed the photo two weeks earlier!
The man is enrolled in the college’s police foundations program.
The photo he posted showed him wearing the program’s uniform, which many students feel is a little “Nazish”, with a drawn-on Hitler-style moustache and a Swastika flag in the background. The comment attached to the photo, posted on the school’s Facebook group, read “Anyone else having fun with the Police Foundations uniforms today?”
Somebody sent the image to the Ottawa Sun on Thursday.
The man claims that this experience has changed his view of social media forever.
He’s also worried that this scenario may have ruined his chances at becoming a police officer. Should it? If he never gets a job with a constabulary force, does he only have himself to blame?
