If you’re one of the 11% of all workers in Ontario earning minimum wage, you’ll see a few extra shekels in your bank account starting today.
Thursday saw the minimum wage rise 25 cents to $11.25 an hour. This wage excludes some students and liquor servers, but their wages are rising as well.
Students (in school, under 18 and working under 28 hours/week) will earn an extra 25 cents for $10.55 an hour.
Liquor servers will earn an extra 25 cents as well, for a total of $9.80 an hour.
If you’re a minimum wage earner, will this make a significant impact on your life. If you operate a business, will this small increase in wage hurt your bottom line?
