Das Gasthaus gastro pub owner Ruthie Cummings has come to the decision to abandon her business and concentrate on taking care of her aging parents. Instead of selling off the restaurant in the Danforth and Broadview area, Cummings thought it would be better to put it up in a contest. She created a raffle where the winner will get a chance to start a restaurant without going into debt. Four thousand raffle tickets are to be sold at $150 to aspiring suitors until the end of November. The draw for the lucky winner will take place on December 1st. Cummings said there are no strings attached. Whoever wins the draw will be at liberty to change Das Gasthaus name, menu or design, or simply sell off the business altogether. The offer comes with all appliances, furnishing and plumbing.
Is this too good to be true? Does something not add up here? What say you, would you buy a ticket?
