A 7-year-old Massachusetts boy is $100 richer after finding $8,000 in a Salem, Mass. park on Saturday.
After finding the cash in a black checkbook, Aiden Wright decided to turn it into the police, who located the owner.
Elias Santos, a contractor, was ecstatic when he was reconnected with his payday cash.
“”I am so grateful, you know, because we don’t have people like this no more,” Santos said.
He thanked young Aiden by peeling off $100.
“He’s been taught from day one to do the right thing. This just shows the lessons has been learned and I’m so proud,” said Aiden’s mom, Ellen.
Is $100 a fair reward for an $8,000 discovery? That makes Aiden’s finder’s fee only 1.25% – shouldn’t his services be valued higher than that? How much would you have handed the young boy?
