Three children and their grandfather are dead after a multi vehicle collision in Vaughan on Sunday.
The accident happened around 5pm Sunday evening near Kipling Avenue and Kirby Road when the van carrying 6 people, three adults and three children was stuck by another vehicle.
A 65 year old man was pronounced dead at the scene and a 9 year old boy was dies a short time later in hospital.
The two other children aged 5 and 2 were also rushed to hospital, however they succumbed to their injuries on Monday morning
Two women, the children’s grandmother and great grandmother were also seriously injured but their condition has now stabilized while two occupants of a third vehicle were treated for minor injuries.
The 29 year old driver of the car, who slammed his vehicle into the families van was arrested at the scene for impaired driving.
Marco Muzzo appeared in court in Newmarket on Monday morning and now faces a total of 18 charges including impaired driving causing death, over 80 causing death, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and impaired driving causing bodily harm.
The children have been named as Harry, Millie and Daniel Neville-Lake, a crowdfunding page has since been set up to help the family.
