Somebody has admitted to not knowing what Auschwitz was.
Hamilton school trustee Alex Johnstone is running in the federal election for Hamilton West-Ancaster-Dundas under the NPD banner. And, like so many candidates in this election, she’s had to apologize for comments made via social media.
This one goes all the way back to 2008!
Her no-no? The 32-year-old made a joke involving Nazi death camp Auschwitz on Facebook.
Website The True North Times found her comment while digging into her past to “get a better feel for what the candidate is all about”. Some might say they went on a hunt, 8 years into the past, to find dirt on Johnstone.
They found a Facebook posting from April 2008 showing a friend’s photograph of part of a fence and its concrete support at the remnants of the death camp in Poland.
“Ahhh, the infamous Pollish (sic), phallic, hydro posts,” Johnstone commented underneath. “Of course you took pictures of this! It expresses how the curve is normal, natural, and healthy right!”
What she revealed to the Hamilton Spectator this week in response to this controversy is even more shocking.
She stated that “Well, I didn’t know what Auschwitz was, or I didn’t up until today.”
SERIOUSLY?!? Is this an example of just how uneducated today’s Millennial Generation is? Would you vote for her, knowing that she doesn’t know what Auschwitz is? Do you believe her?
