Another poll has been released ahead of the Federal Election, and this one puts the Conservatives on top.
The EKOS poll, done for La Presse, finds support for the Tories has jumped almost 6% to 35.4% in less than a week, and that increase is being attributed to the stand the Prime Minister has taken on the niqab. Stephen Harper wants to see the face coverings banned at citizenship ceremonies.
Support for the Liberals has risen as well. They sit in second place at 26.3% support, and the NDP have tumbled to third, according to the poll. They now sit at 24.5%, down 5%.
The Conservatives have also picked up more support in Quebec, up 8% to 24%. They sit behind the NDP there, who have 33% decided voter support, that’s down 8%.
The Liberals are at 19%, and 18% for the Bloc Quebecois.
