Toronto Councillor George Mammoliti rallied the anti-Uber movement with hundreds of cabbies outside of his constituency office.
He urged Uber to start following the same rules as regular taxis.
The Ward 7 Councillor even went to far as to brandish a bottle of “Luber,” showing how the ride-sharing company is “screwing people in Toronto.”
City Council meets September 30 to vote on whether or not to permit ride-sharing companies to compete with taxis.
Does Uber deserve a place in this city? Is there a way in which Uber and regular taxi services can work under similar guidelines?
