The madcap mascot for the Minnesota Vikings – Ragnar – was absent from the field during Sunday afternoon’s game sending social media into a frenzy over the whereabouts of their beloved mascot. Turns out, the man behind the mask, Joe Juranitch, had asked for $20,000 per game over the next 10 years during his contract negotiations – breaking down to $1.6 million for eight regular season home games per season over that 10 year period – and management was less than inclined to acquiesce to his request. Do you think Juranitch’s request was unreasonable? Given that players make more than that, should he not be given a comparable salary? Some are arguing he’s a professional entertainer – is he worth that much money?
