The city has decided to crack down on residents who have been leaving hockey and basketball nets on the edge of the road. Residents in the Lawrence Ave and Avenue Rd area have received letters from the city telling them to remove the sporting equipment. If they don’t remove the nets they will be fined $90. Residents don’t know why the city has started to enforce this law, since yelling ‘car’ and getting out of the way while playing street hockey is a Canadian tradition.
