It was the last thing Brampton resident Diane Tsialtas expected to happen to her on a Friday morning while walking on a sidewalk near work in Mississauga.
At 8am, two tires – each weighing nearly 200 pounds – fell off of a dump truck. One of them struck the Mary Kay Cosmetics employee, who was airlifted to hospital but eventually succumbed to her injuries.
People familiar with tires on transport trucks suggest that the wheels were not properly secured on the dump truck.
Peel police have spoken with the driver of the 14-wheel dump truck, but have not laid charges.
Do you think cops should read the driver his rights and put him or her in handcuffs? Are they not to blame for the tires not being properly secured?
