Uber is trying to use the public to get support from city council. The ride sharing service is urging customers to demand that council legalize UberX.
Uber unveiled a website at 10 a.m. this morning with a petition calling on councillors to pass city-staff-recommended reforms at their Sept. 30 meeting.
The petition registered more than 23,000 signatures by this afternoon.
Ubers users are also receiving emails urging them to sign the petition and the website also has videos of Toronto UberX drivers touting the service.
