Two suspect’s are being sought by police after a double shooting in the Entertainment District on Sunday night.
Officers were called out to Micheal’s on Simcoe Street around 9:50 after reports of two men walking into a restaurant and firing multiple shots.
A couple in their late 20’s who were dining in the restaurant at the time were both hit, with the woman suffering life threatening injuries.
She was transported to hospital where her condition has since improved.
The male suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and according the police, he may have been the intended target of the attack with Detective Paul Ward saying at a press conference on Monday morning that ”it would seem the bullets were following” him.
The suspects who witnesses say were wearing masks are believed to have fled on foot, police are now reviewing security camera footage from inside the restaurant in the hope of building suspect descriptions.
Meanwhile the owner of the restaurant Michael Dabic has released a statement saying he is ‘shocked and saddened at the violence” adding that ”our thoughts and prayers are with the couple involved in the targeted shooting and we wish them both a speedy recovery”
