The city of Toronto has been asked by the Canadian National Exhibition to not renew the lease for Muzik nightclub.
A meeting is scheduled to take place on Monday with The Exhibition Place Board of Governor’s to review the request and the plan going forward.
There was a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a man and woman following the Civic Day weekend back in August, which was an after-party for rapper Drake’s OVO Fest.
However, according to CNE President Brian Ashton, they feel the area should be protected, as it is a jewel that needs to be used strictly for public accessibility.
The Horticulture Building at the Liberty Grand has been leased to Muzik nightclub since 2004.
