You can breathe easy, hockey fans! The NHL will not clutter their cherished hockey jerseys with advertisements as some had theorized.
While announcing a new seven-year deal with Adidas to produce the league’s uniforms starting in 2017 (see ya, Reebok!), NHL commissioner Gary Bettman proclaimed that “we are not currently considering putting advertising on NHL jerseys. There have been no discussions, formally or informally, with anybody about doing that.”
However, Bettman did say that the league has discussed the idea of ads on 2016 World Cup of Hockey jerseys.
Do you think Bettman is being honest? Would you have trouble watching a hockey game dominated by jerseys drowning in logos?
