The city is always looking at ways to save money while still delivering services to it’s residents, but this latest suggestion out of City Hall is sure to raise some eyebrows.
Ward 3 Councillor Stephen Holyday is interested in having the Public Works Commitee ask for a staff report on possible savings if residents were to toss their trash to one side of the street only.
He says sticking to one side would not only be cheaper, but it would also mean faster collection times. Holyday does admit it would only work in certain areas of the city.
If Public Works approves the item, Holyday is hopeful a report would be made available in the new year.
