Well, it’s official – Toronto will not be bidding for the 2024 Olympics. The deadline to submit a letter of intent was today, but Mayor Tory made the decision to forgo the bid due to lack of corporate enthusiasm and no support from the province. Tory still believes that one day Toronto will host the Olympics, but it won’t be for the 2024 games. He said in a press conference this morning, “In the end, it is no my job to be rash [but to do the right thing”. Was this the right decision? Shouldn’t this decision have been made long ago?
