Mayor Tory will have a big announcement Tuesday morning regarding a decision on a possible Olympic bid in 2024.
The deadline to submit a bid is tomorrow and Tory says he’ll make his decision at 9:30 on the roof of the snack bar at Nathan Phillips square.
Multiple reports say Tory has decided not to enter the city into the competitive bid process.
They say the decision was made after Tory received a lack of corporate enthusiasm and no firm support from the province.
Just the bid alone could have cost Toronto up to $60 million.
Los Angeles has voted in favour of bidding for the 2024 Olympics. Paris, Rome, Hamburg and Budapest, are also bidding for the games.
