Two people suffered minor injuries after another pane of glass fell from a Toronto highrise.
Around 1:15 p.m. emergency officials were called after the glass fell from the penthouse level of the Four seasons at Bay and Yorkville.
It’s believed the two people who were injured may have gotten glass in their eyes.
Bay and Yorkville is now closed as a precaution and the TTC is diverting its 6 Bay route both ways via Bloor, Avenue and Davenport.
The Four Seasons says ‘The safety and security of our guests and neighbours remains of utmost importance to us.’ they say ‘We take this matter very seriously and are working diligently to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.’
It”s the latest in a series of incidents over the last few years. In mid-April a woman suffered a cut on her arm from falling glass.
In 2011 a number of incidents in Toronto led the province to amend its building code for balconies for new constructions to use stronger glass.
Road closure expected to be in effect for another 2.5 hours.^kg
