A Goodwill store in Etobicoke has been evacuated after an item resembling a grenade was received as a donation.
Police were called to the scene on Islington Avenue near The Queensway at around 10 a.m. when employees discovered the item.
The CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) unit was called in to investigate, but the initial scans of the item are inconclusive, so their next step is consultation with CFB Borden.
A perimeter has been set up around that store and the fire services and paramedics are on standby as a precaution.
Police CBRNE personnel will be disposing of what appears to be an inert hand grenade. ^kg
