There are a number of parents who won’t be sending their kids to school on Tuesday, September 8th due to the province’s new sexual education curriculum.
A group of demonstrators gathered in Thorncliffe Park on Saturday to protest against the changes.
Included in the new curriculum are things like online bullying, sexting, same-sex relationships, consent, masturbation, gender expression and contraception.
Premier Kathleen Wynne’s government upgraded the program in order to catch up with the other provinces.
According to Education Minister Liz Sandals, this is the first time in 17 years that the sex-ed program has been revised.
