Mallorie Wild was struck last August by a drunk driver while walking down Penetang Street in Barrie.
After the collision, the driver, 21-yr-old Eric Bravener, fled the scene.
Mallorie went through 17 operations on her right leg, spent months in hospital, and now wants some payback. She’s not only going after Bravener, but also the bar who served him and even his mother, as she was the one who owned the car he was driving that night and… owned the bar, Bourbon, that her son had just left from!
She’s looking for an $11.2 million win in this case.
Bravener will be sentencecd on September 15 for the charges he pleaded guilty to, which includes fail to remain and impaired driving causing bodily harm.
Do you think it’s fair to hold a bartender or bar responsible for the actions of an intoxicated patron? Is it a bar’s job to keep an eye on its patrons and how much they’re consuming? Do you think she should get her $11 million?
