A woman’s move to Mississauga from Kingston has resulted in damaged furniture.
She claims the movers she hired for $1,800 to shuttle her possessions from old dwelling to new dwelling were tampered with and damaged.
Damaged items included a bicycle, ottoman, coffee maker and mattress, which Mitra Monir claims arrived with tears and a yellow stain on it.
Mitra obtained security footage that actually showed one of the movers with Canadian Moving Systems repeatedly putting his foot down on her bike. They claim that he was only trying to repair the vehicle.
Is this a tale of a customer trying to scam a moving company, or is it a reminder to do your research before hiring somebody to handle your most valued possessions?
