NASA is conducting its longest ever simulation test in Hawaii for life on Mars.
There are six people who have been selected to live in a dome over the course of a year.
All members of the crew are with the University of Hawaii and have been underway with the test since Friday, as they assume the lifestyle of a Martian, in a two-storey facility that contains cameras, data systems and other equipment that will track their social and emotional tendencies.
Scientists are looking into what could be a possibility for humans in the future making trips to the next planet after Earth.
Researchers say a trip to Mars would be close to three years of travel.
