The Mayor of Oakville, Ontario used his official city Twitter address, to express dissatisfaction with the Conservative Party. The Tories were hiring former military members to provide additional security for the Prime Minister at party events. One tweet wrote: “any political parties had private police using veterans before”? The Mayor then posted two links to Wikipedia– 0ne to the Stumbandabteiling (Nazi Brown Shirts) who provided paramilitary protection for Adolf Hitler.
We ask T. Lee Humphrey and Conservative blogger Stephen Taylor who tweeted the Mayor and received a reply.
Meanwhile, various Canadian military veterans groups are engaged in a national campaign to boot the Conservatives and Stephen Harper out of office. Their claim is that Harper and the Conservatives have sacrificed Canada’s military vets. At the same time, there’s a group called the “Veterans For the Conservative Party of Canada.”
T. Lee Humphrey is a former member of the Princess Patricia Light Infantry and President of James International Security (providing international security for major corporations in some of the world’s most dangerous countries). Humphrey also started the Veterans for the Conservative Party of Canada Facebook page.
