The province is asking residents with the original red and white health cards to make the switch to the newer green cards with photos.
According to Service Ontario there are close to three million old health cards still being used by people across Ontario and three out of every four people already have the newer cards, which were brought in back in 1995 and created to crackdown on healthcare fraud in that era.
The old cards will be phased out and eliminated, but no date has been set at this time.
