The Prime Minister’s camp likely breathing a little easier after a judge on Tuesday called an early halt to the Mike Duffy trial due to the health of a witness and a personal issue involving the former senator’s lawyer.
The trial is adjourned until November 18th. That means the Conservatives won’t have to deal with any new revelations from testimony at Duffy’s fraud trial until after the election.
Ontario Court Justice Charles Vaillancourt called an early halt on proceedings, almost a full month after Canadians go to the polls. The original plan was to continue for the rest of the week before going on hiatus.
