It looks like something from the rainbow ended up in a large quantity of stolen property, and police want to re-unite it with its owner.
Following a large theft bust, York Region Police posted 125 photos online for its rightful owners to claim. Among them was a single orange Skittle, with the “S” a little faded.
Det. Sgt. Don Cardwell says the candy was photographed by an investigator, sent to the police force’s media relations department as a joke. Investigators had no intention of the little candy being posted online.
“It was in one of the property bags so I guess they just threw it in there as a joke figuring that corporate communications would pick up on it but apparently not and I’ve got an earful,” says Cardwell.
