On the heels of some of the most heated exchanges so far, the Mike Duffy trial resumes again on Tuesday.
Exchanges between witness and lawyer on Monday blew up during testimony of who knew about the repayment of Duffy’s Senate expenses.
The third senior Harper aide, Chris Woodcock testified that he wasn’t aware of the cheque from Nigel Wright until it was reported in the media.
This despite the fact he was sent an e-mail from Wright confirming that the he would cover the expenses.
Duffy’s lawyer, Donald Bayne, shocked that Woodcock could omit reading such a memo.
Woodcock said missing messages “is a fact of life when you receive 700-to-1,000 emails a day.” in reference to the March 8th e-mail.
Harper’s current chief of staff, Ray Novak, is also denying he read an email from Wright telling him about the repayment.
