After doing some research, The National Daycare Program promised by Tom Mulcair and the NDP seems to wobble. The NDP website claims ‘Too many mothers are sacrificing career goals because they cannot find affordable care’. But it seems that your baby was probably just an annoying interruption to your career-goal pursuits. In Quebec, they have a daycare program but the Premier recently said the daily cost per child is $60, with the taxpayer underwriting $52.50 of that. Quebec daycare users do not pay up front with their $7.50 daily fee, there is much more. CPC and Liberal child care initiatives are also challenged.
If you’re going to have a child, is daycare what you want for the child? Is it the child’s first choice?
