OSSTF union leaders have reportedly endorsed a deal with the provincial government and school boards that includes a 1% pay raise, a 1% lump sum payment and an additional P.A. day.
According to the union, the pay raises will be generated through savings that are found within other parts of the agreement.
Members of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation will vote to ratify the agreement at some point this September.
The deal would be effective on September 1st, 2016 for teachers at public high schools.
Meantime, ETFO president Sam Hammond says elementary teachers will be stepping up work to rule action, if no deal is reached by the start of the school year.
