The Canadian National Exhibition is officially open for the 137th annual event.
Mayor John Tory was part of a colourful procession that marked the start of the annual fair, which will last through Labour Day.
The fair began in 1879 as an agricultural and industrial event but has since turned into a mix of carnival rides, concerts and indulgent novelty foods.
This year The Ex will have a lot of the same attractions with something new and old for everyone.
Returning again will be the CNE bandshell with new and old musical guests.
There will also be a west coast lumber jack show along with all the rides and games in the midway.
One of the staples of the EX is all the mouth watering treats you can sink your teeth into.
This year’s lineup includes bacon wrapped grilled cheese, chicken waffle on a stick, deep fried red velvet oreo’s and poutine balls
