Niagara Regional Police Services are giving an update on a family believed the have left a baby in a hotel safe in Niagara.
Officials believe the couple could still be in Ontario, saying they haven’t yet returned to their home in New York State.
Around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, an employee of the hotel was alerted by the parents of the baby that the child was locked inside the safe. The employee assisted in getting the child out.
The couple then left the hotel with their baby before police arrived. Officers believe the baby is in good health.
Police are looking to speak with the family about the welfare of the child.
The hotel room was registered to a person driving a 2015 Grey Ford passenger van with the New Jersey licence plate B31 EUB. The family is described as described as Asian, from Brooklyn, NY.
