Mike Duffy’s defense team is expected to step up and take it to former Chief of Staff Nigel Wright again on Tuesday.
Monday Wright faced a courtroom grilling for a third day in Ottawa at the trial of the former Senator.
Lawyers for Wright and Duffy, bickered over what some e-mail exchanges meant after Duffy admitted he potentially made a mistake with living expenses.
Wright was pressed to explain the alleged scheme between top aides in Harper’s Office, and Duffy, in which the senator would come clean and publicly admit he made a mistake with a vow to pay back the misappropriated funds.
Harper, on the campaign trail, still not been able to shake questions from reporters at ever public appearance.
While at a stop in Fredericton, Harper had to re-iterate that this case does not involve him.
Duffy has pleaded not guilty to 31 charges of fraud, breach of trust and bribery.
