The TTC is clearing two special constables who were caught on camera involved in a violent brawl earlier this year.
It happened at Union Station TTC subway stop on January 29th after a Toronto Maple Leafs game. A six-minute video of an incident quickly went viral when it was posted later in March.
The video shows a packed subway platform, with a number of people involved in some sort of altercation. At the end of the video, one of the officers throws a flurry of punches at one man while he’s held against the wall.
Two men were later arrested by police.
TTC CEO Andy Byford called the incident concerning, prompting an investigation.
The Toronto Police Service finished the investigation last week, and according to TTC spokesperson Brad Ross, they found that the actions of the special constables didn’t violate any professional standards.
An internal investigation by the TTC also cleared the officers of any wrongdoing.
