Paramedics in this province are seeing red over a new proposal that would allow firefighters to give patients medical treatment.
The Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association is proposing a two-year project that would train firefighters on administering certain drugs to patients at the scene of a fire.
Paramedics, meanwhile, feel a full assessment of the patient needs to be done before any type of drug is given to someone.
Do you think this training for firefighters is a good idea? Would this take away a major part of the paramedics’ jobs away, or could it be useful?
