Statistics Canada says Canada`s economy has added about 6,600 jobs last month to offset some losses in June but that`s still not moving the national unemployment rate.
For the 6th month in a row the unemployment rate has not faltered, staying at 6.8%
Stats Canada believes the biggest reason for this is that fewer people gained full-time employment with most of those jobs added only part time or a measure of self-employment.
To make matters worse the demographics for improvement are very one sided. Men aged 25-54 accounted for most of the gains, whereas women and youth numbers barely moved.
