The chair of the Toronto District School Board is to step down in a bid to be elected as a Liberal MP.
Shaun Chen who has been a trustee at the board for 6 years and a chair for one is to run in the new riding of Scarborough North.
He has been granted a leave of absence as trustee while he focuses his attention on his federal election bid.
He will not accept any salary from the TDSB during this time.
It’s expected a meeting will be called this week, when the board will vote on a replacement for Chen.
