On the 11 week campaign trail today Prime Minister Stephen Harper releases his first big budget promise.
If Harper is elected his government will enact a $1.5 billion home renovation tax credit, but he promises that credit won’t go into effect until the economic climate has improved.
Speaking in Toronto Harper claims the credit would apply to renovations done in homes, condos, apartments and cottages, reintroducing billions in the economy.
The credit applies to renovations up to $10,000 with a low ceiling of $5,000.
