The father of James Holmes took the stand yesterday in an attempt to spare his son the death penalty.
James was recently convicted of killing 12 people and injuring 70 in an Aurora, Colorado movie theater three years ago.
His father said he was an “excellent kid,” and didn’t realize until after the shooting that mental illness runs in the family.
Did he do what any parent would? Or is defending someone guilty of a mass shooting, no matter who they are, wrong?
