It appears Toronto’s chances of hosting the Summer Games in 2024 could be on the rise.
The success of the 2015 Pan Am Games could be what gives officials and organizers another look at giving the most prominent sporting event to the city.
Despite added HOV lanes and slumping ticket sales, the Pan Am Games have proven that Toronto would be a good destination for the Olympics.
Critics say a winning bid would not only improve the city’s chances, but bring added developments to the waterfront, transit infrastructure and revive highways in and around the GTA.
The head of the Canadian Olympic committee Marcel Aubut says the time is now for Toronto to make a push for the summer games.
Toronto has made previous attempts to host the Olympics in 1996 and 2004, but obviously both bids fell short.
