Columbus took an early 3 – nil second half lead against TFC, however, a couple quality moments from MLS all star Sebastian Giovinco salvaged a tie with Columbus.
The Reds looked dead and buried after just two minutes in the second half, but a world class volley from the Italian superstar in the 50th minute started a rally which ended with a tying penalty from American National Jose Altidore in the dying minutes salvaged a point on the road.
TFC are in a playoff spot sitting fourth in the east just past the midway point of the season.
The All Star game is Wednesday with Giovinco representing TFC. The clubs next game is Saturday night in New England.
