A recent look into the polls suggests that Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Conservatives have received a boost in popularity. Due to the universal child care benefits being sent out, the Harper government is reaping some of its own benefits as well. Just weeks before the expected election call, the Conservatives are well ahead of the other parties at 38% of decided voters, while the NDP and Liberal parties, 27% and 25% respectively, are falling behind. Fortunately for the Conservatives, the survey began as the first round of universal child care benefits were being sent out. Are you supporting them because they are paying you?
