A Calgary woman was denied taking home the dress she purchased from the only Bebe location in the city because the store claimed their debit machine had crashed, and she hadn’t paid for the item. When she pulled up her bank statement to show in fact that the transaction had gone through, the store insisted it wasn’t in their system and she couldn’t take the dress home. When she complained on Twitter about the incident, a Bebe district manager called her to tell her that she was upsetting the employees with her pursuit of the issue. The CEO finally connected with the woman giving her the dress, a refund and a gift cert for the store. If she’d paid with cash, this never would have happened. Is this further proof that cash is king?
