In a time when every square foot of living space is precious, several electronics manufacturers are racing to corner the market on the LED lightbulb with built in bluetooth speakers.
There’s the Sony LSPX series, the Sylvania “Musiclites”, the Mipow “Playbulb”, and The Sengled “Pulse”, just a few examples of companies merging LED lighting technology with sound.
“Why not take something people are familiar with and make it a little easier for them.” says Sengled spokesperson Megan Johnson. “Everyone wants a home entertainment system, so why not put it into something they already have.”
The bulbs lighting and speaker properties can be controlled by an app on your smartphone. Bulbs range from anywhere between $50.00 to $200.00 each with sound wattage in the same range as the wattage of the light.
