A number of ducks covered in oil have been rescued from Mimico Creek today.
There is no exact number of birds affected but the Toronto Wildlife Centre says dozens of birds have been affected.
The ducks are covered in a sticky black substance which leaves them unable to fly.
The birds are being taken away by the Wildlife centre to have the substance removed.
Firefighters say the ducks were found at West Deane Park, in the Martin Grove and Rathburn Road area.
It’s believed the mineral oil in the creek was from a truck rollover at Highways 401 and 427 Monday night.
