A Toronto contractor has been arrested in a fraud investigation.
It’s alleged a 77 year old woman paid $25, 000 for renovations to be completed on her home between June 2012 and May 2015, but the work was never completed.
66 year old Matteo De-Paola has been charged with fraud over $5000.
It’s also alleged paving and/or renovation services were offered to elderly people within the Italian community, where a large deposit or a lump sum payment was required up front, to pay for materials required for the job.
The materials are never purchased and the work is never completed.
De-Paola has operated in the past under the following business names: Paveland Paving Inc., M. De Paola General Contractor Paving, and A&M De Paola General Contractor Paving.
