Protesters are hoping to disrupt a major climate change conference getting underway in Toronto Wednesday.
The two-day Climate Summit of the Americas is taking place at the Royal York Hotel.
Organizers of the protest set up a facebook page saying thousands would attend the protests but as of 8 a.m. only 50 or 60 showed up.
One group of protesters marched to the hotel from Berczy park and many downtown streets were blocked temporarily.
Speakers at the summit include former Mexican President Felipe Calderon and former U.S. vice-president Al Gore.
