All four of Ontario’s teachers’ unions are ready to strike come September. So that means both the unions and the government is working hard to avoid such a situation, correct?
That would be a negative. Nobody’s talking to one another right now!
The ETFO and OSSTF have said NOTHING to the province and Ontario Public School Boards’ Association for two months.
No new talks are set to take place in the near future, and likely won’t happen until right before the school year starts!
Nobody’s even tried to open up discussions again!
At least the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association and Association of Teachers of Franco-Ontario Teachers are still engaged in some low level negotiations right now.
Do we need a law passed to FORCE all parties to stay at the negotiating table all summer long until a decision is reached?
