You’ll need an umbrella this afternoon, as well as this evening if you’re headed outdoors.
Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement, advising of possibly substantial amounts of rain over a relatively short period of time.
Anywhere up to 40 millimeters is possible, although some areas may see a bit more, with isolated thunderstorms.
The showers will also cool things off. The overnight low in Toronto is expected to hit about 12 degrees, with a high Wednesday around 23, which is slightly cooler than the normal of 27 for this time of year.
The storms will be accompanied with some strong winds, with gusts of 50 kilometers per hour or higher.
The worst of this system is expected to move out by about midnight.
